Oh hi there. It's only about that time for the worlds only monthly safe space mental health new material comedy / storytelling night once again. As per usual it'll be a unique and wonderful menagerie of likeminded people joy.
Who the bloody eck will be on this time I hear you cry? All with super fresh mental health related material...
Lindsey Santoro - Is absolutely one in a million! She's supported Joe Lycett on tour and this is what he has to say about her...
"One of the most naturally hysterical and gifted comedians in recent memory." - Joe Lycett
She recounts tales of her misadventures in life, all in her trademark down to earth, slightly madcap side-splitting style. In 2016 she became a semi-finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards.
Also, what a treat, it's Scott Bennett! Scott's supported for Michael McIntyre and Rob Brydon on their tours and has written for Jason Manford, The Chris Ramsey Show and for the News Quiz, BBC Radio 4. He's also been on BBC podcasts - The Comedy Club with Arthur Smith and Knock Knock with Helen Lederer.
“The highlight of the evening, naturally hilarious” - ★★★★ Broadway Baby Edinburgh Fringe 2013
Kathryn Mather - Watch her "How To Build a Tardis" series on Youtube, it's very good indeed. Again Kathryn is a right ol' original treat! She's dark and cynical, but always very friendly.
“Mather, whose material is dark, sharp, largely unprintable and often downright bizarre. Her set was a crowd favourite, managing to never offend while delivering no-holds-barred material.” –The Oxford Times
"Her black humour certainly hit a chord with the room" - Chortle
And now with added Hannah Platt :)
Deadpan misanthrope Hannah Platt has a well-earned reputation as one of the most darkly funny acts on the underground circuit.
Each performance mixes contempt for her audience with brutal honesty and self-loathing - with each aspect making her many perfectly-crafted punchlines all the more hilarious!
"... Platt has established herself as a fresh and unsurprisingly bleak voice of a new generation" - The Skinny
All compered by Harriet Dyer (as seen on ITV1, 2 and Be, BBC3 and as heard on Absolute Radio, BBC Radio 4 Extra, BBC Ouch, BBC Knock Knock)
"A bundle of whimsical hilarity a breath of fresh air will have you in stitches" - Broadway Baby
"Instinctively funny seems certain to become a comic force to be reckoned with" - Steve Bennett, Chortle
"She's got funny bones" - Kevin Bridges
"Dyer made the audience feel at home and managed to wow the crowd loveable and delightful" - Three Weeks
It's free to enter (donations after if you can afford it.) Doors open at 7:00, show STARTS at 8:00. Hope to see you there :) x
