The seamless duo's music is intimate, conversational and swinging, and explores lesser-known, as well as some more familiar, tunes from the American Songbook. Adding their cool, modernist twist, they always connect with the audience. Sam Brasher (alto sax) has recently been playing with Jorge Rossy (of Brad Mehldau Trio fame), Barry Green Sextet and ECM recording artist John Warren's Nonet. New York-based Michael Kanan is an acclaimed pianist of international renown who has played with Jane Monheit, Jimmy Scott, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Peter Bernstein.
