YES it's time once again for your very delightful space space, mental health, new material comedy night. If you haven't been before do come along, it's a right ol' hoot and if you're worried about coming by yourself - don't be, most people are in the same boat and i'm always there to greet and point you in the right direction.
The wonderful acts this time are...
Jonny Pelham - Jonny began comedy at University and while he was there he achieved runner-up in both the coveted So You Think You’re Funny competition and The Chortle Student Comedy Awards. Since graduating university Jonny has continued to impress and was a finalist and judges choice in the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards, as well as being nominated for Chortle Best Newcomer in 2014.
2016 saw Jonny make the exciting step over to the small screen on Russell Howards Stand Up Central for Comedy Central followed by a support slot on Live At The BBC this year. Jonny has also appeared in the Viceland series, Harriet & Bobby Get Married and Plane Spotting for Turtle Canyon.
With three critically acclaimed solo shows under his belt, Before and After (2015), Fool’s Paradise (2016) and Just Shout Louder (2017), Jonny has a number of up-coming television projects in the pipe-line and has only last week had his own comedy short shown on Sky.
“Reassuring Presence and way with a story – there are echoes of Daniel Kitson in his writing” – The Guardian
“The Laughs are explosive” – Chortle, Steve Bennet
“Jonny Pelham has a big future … a really striking set” – Bruce Dessau
Amy Vreeke - Amy (tour support for Sophie Willan) is an extremely honest and (obviously hilarious) performer, often venturing into comedy paths that no-one else delves. After years of health problems and quite frankly absolute trauma a lot of her new material takes a frank and funny look at a life-altering disease that affects one in ten women in the UK.
AJ Hill - A fairly surreal, quite a bit eccentric and quite the lovely chap indeed will also be galavanting his honest yet humorous woes your way.
As per, this absolute treat shall all be compered by Harriet Dyer
All hosted by Harriet Dyer Harriet Dyer (as seen on ITV1, 2 and Be, BBC3 and as heard on Absolute Radio, BBC Radio 4 Extra, BBC Ouch, BBC Knock Knock)
"A bundle of whimsical hilarity a breath of fresh air will have you in stitches" - Broadway Baby
"Instinctively funny seems certain to become a comic force to be reckoned with" - Steve Bennett, Chortle
"She's got funny bones" - Kevin Bridges
"Dyer made the audience feel at home and managed to wow the crowd loveable and delightful" - Three Weeks
It's free to enter (donations after only if you can afford it.) Doors open at 7:00, show STARTS at 8:00. Any questions, let me know. Ooh, also, this is the last show before the Christmas special on December 5th so be sure to come to this one if you want to get your invite for that. Thanks so much, hope to see you there :) x
