Phil Beer returns to Wadsworth on his String Theory͛ 2019 Tour with support from Alice Jones.
Charming, disarming and exceptionally talented, multi-instrumentalist Phil Beer is something of a national treasure on the folk, roots and acoustic scene. One-half of award-winning powerhouse Show of Hands, Phil is equally as in demand for his solo shows. In early 2019 he sets out to share some of his most-loved songs at carefully selected venues across the U.K. with the odd laugh thrown in for good measure. Phil's visit to West Yorkshire is not to be missed.
Another multi-instrumentalist, Alice Jones also is a singer with a distinctive voice and is also a dancer. Hailing from Calderdale, her background is deeply rooted in the English folk tradition and the music that she makes instantly reflects this strong influence. Alice sings mostly traditional songs accompanying herself on the guitar, piano or harmonium and sometimes only with foot percussion. The sensitive and intuitive arrangements of each song allow the narrative to take centre stage.
Phil and Alice have played together at gigs before and we expect they will be doing solo sets and also we will also play and sing together.
