This year’s Christmas Concert by the Farrant Singers, conducted by Andrew Mackay, is a performance of Handel’s Dixit Dominus. This youthful and vivacious work was one of his earliest choral works written when he was just 22. Also in the programme is a trio of Christmas pieces, written especially for us by our founder, Richard Lloyd, entitled Christus natus est. The three carols are Nowell, nowell!, Today God sent His Son and Born is the Babe. There will also be lots of carols for choir and audience and, of course, the Hallelujah Chorus for all. Bring a copy if you have on!
The choir will be joined by Farrants Strings, organist Edward Reeve and sopranos Abigail Hooper and Deborah Mackay.
