Rose Cousins, Canadian, from Prince Edward Island, living in Halifax Nova Scotia when not touring or travelling, seeking inspiration. Rose is fuelled by collaboration, deeply valuing being part of a multiple music communities. Most recently, she sought out Grammy Award winner Joe Henry to produce 'Natural Conclusion'. an album of songs that stem from a period away from the stage, travelling across N America via LA / Nashville / Toronto and Ireland, photographing and writing.
This album was nominated for a 2018 GRAMMY award (Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical - Ryan Freeland, Joao Carvalho), 8 East Coast Music Awards, won 2 Music Nova Scotia Awards ('Americana Album of The Year' and 'Solo Album of the Year') and on Polaris Music Prize’s 'Longer List'.
Rose, herself, has nominations for 'Songwriter of the Year' 2018 JUNO Awards, 'Artist of the Year' 2018 International Folk Awards, and named 'Best Artist to Enjoy Quietly' by Halifax’s weekly arts paper The Coast. These can be added to her JUNO Award, 3 East Coast Music Awards, a Canadian Folk Music Award, Polaris Music Prize nomination and picks/best of lists in USA Today, NPR Music and Oprah Magazine, plus music in several TV shows including 'Grey’s Anatomy.'
