It’s that time of year again when we celebrate the music of the legend that was DAVID BOWIE. Now in its 7th year, LET’S PLAY …BOWIE always coincides with Bowies Birthday weekend so we are going to have a party. This year we will be doing it a bit different. We will be performing, in its entirety, the album HUNKY DORY. This album, for a lot of fans, is one of his finest moments. It gave the world classics such as Life on Mars, Changes, Oh! You Pretty Things, Fill Your Heart. We have a house band, THE DONKEY DORY’S, who will be backing various singers including Gaz Birtles, Kevin Hewick, Nile Barrow, Andy Sharman, Nia Songbird plus others to be confirmed.
Also on the bill will be THE SERIOUS MOONLIGHTS. (https://www.facebook.com/SeriousMoonlights/_ ) A Leicester band borne out of our annual event who go out in their own right now performing the not so obvious Bowie tracks like Fame, Lets Dance, Sound and Vision, Win, China Girl, Cracked Actor etc.
We will be finishing the night with the more rockier sounds of Bowie with WELLARD WILLY blasting out the likes of Rebel Rebel, John I’m Only Dancing, Ziggy Stardust, Suffragette City, Diamond Dogs, Jean Genie etc.
Bowie video projections and a Bowie disco afterwards. What more could you ask for?
