Oh my! Having previously played in Oxford over the years but not for some time we are happy to be bringing Damo Suzuki back to town for an improvised performance alongside some, still to be confirmed, local sound carriers.

A genuinely unique talent, Damo Suzuki found fame after krautrock legends CAN found him busking in the streets of 70s Cologne. Immediately drafting him in to replace Malcolm Mooney, the band, oft-considered one of the single greatest outfits in western musical history went on to record a plethora of seminal LPs, including TAGO MAGO and EGE BAMYASI.

Damo Suzuki's never-ending tour here stops off at The Jericho, where he will perform with an assembly of hand-picked local musicians. Suzuki's synthetic language creates an absolutely astonishing performance, his voice remains a beautiful philosopher's stone, the alchemical jigsaw piece of the krautrock puzzle.

Damo Suzuki's sound carriers on the night are Jennifer Oliver, Mike Smith and Pete Smith from Lucy Leave, Sian Lloyd Pratchett, James Maund from The Cooling Pearls and Flights of Helios and Harriet Butler from Flights of Helios - this will be an intersting and beautiful one off spectactle!

Stuart Fowkes will be opening the night with his Cities and Memory project, which is a performance of live ambient and electronic music constructed from the sounds of the world, taken from a global sound project that aims to remix the world, one sound at a time. The performance will include sound pieces built from the sounds of Alpine church bells, nightingale song, Formula 1 car engines and even the inside of the Sistine Chapel. Accompanied by live visuals, the show is one for fans of Fennesz, Stars of the Lid and field recording.

Stuart Fowkes has formerly played in Oxford bands including Listing Ships, From Light To Sound and Sunnyvale Noise Sub-element.
