Square Leg Records is a new label owned and ran by Brit Award/Mercury Prize winning record producer Charlie Andrew. As a producer Charlie has worked with bands including Alt-J, Marika Hackman, Matt Corby, Bloc Party and many more. He was also the drummer in The Laurel Collective who were signed to Domino Records with whom he ran In the Woods festival.
The label was formed in late 2016 and has already released music by Francobollo, Sivu, Colossal Squid & AK Patterson. This is the first ever Square Leg Records night!
Zooni are a brand new Brighton band, formed at the end of 2018 the band were discovered by Brit Award/Mercury prize winning producer Charlie Andrew after his engineer Jay Pocknell produced their first 3 songs. Fusing influences from folk, indie and classic song writing Zooni have hit upon a sound that’d sit alongside some of the great American Indie bands of the last 20 years such as Death Cab For Cutie, Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes and more.
Upon hearing them Charlie offered them a deal with his label Square Leg Records (Sivu, Francobollo, AK Patterson etc). The band recently finished a 4 track EP which will be released in 2019 on Square Leg.
