Rod Clements is a founding member of Lindisfarne and is performing for us tonight at Billingham Golf Club.

Rod formed the folk-rock band Lindisfarne with Alan Hull in 1970, and wrote the classic "Meet Me On The Corner", a UK Top 5 hit in March 1972, which won Clements an Ivor Novello Award.

Clements' main role in Lindisfarne was that of bassist until 1990, when he moved to slide guitar and mandolin. Rod also played violin from time to time, most notably in the instrumental break of "Fog On The Tyne", both on stage and on disc.

In recent years he was honoured as a local hero and a plaque dedicated to Lindisfarne was unveiled on the Walk Of Fame on the quayside outside of The Sage Gateshead.

Rod rejoined Lindisfarne in 2015 and is currently enjoying sell out tours with the band...

He has released many solo albums and tonight will be treating us with his own material. If we are lucky he might also throw in a few classics for good measure.
