Staged by candlelight, this unique winter recital by Alexander Pullinger (countertenor), and Andrew Charity (pianist) takes place within Christian Hey’s captivating scenography.
The piece tells the story of a singer who went missing shortly after his last recital, and his subsequent transformation. We first encounter the character in a dark wood, cold and alone, gradually forgetting his origins and clinging to music in the shadows.
Unravel the mysteries of his past and witness his journey from this world to the next one through the works of Purcell, Britten, Ravel, Quilter, Dowland, Warlock, Vaughan Williams and more.
There will be a cash bar at the interval.
Alexander Pullinger is a freelance countertenor and singing teacher, based in London. Andrew Charity is a freelance conductor/pianist and vocal coach.
