For Nostalgia’s Own End - An afternoon talk and Q&A session with
Rohan Kriwaczek, internationally acclaimed local composer, writer and performer. http://www.rohan-k.co.uk/
Composer, author and professional mischief-maker Rohan Kriwaczek talks about the creation of his concerto for klezmer band and orchestra – Nostalgia’s Own End, composed for She'koyokh and the Wallace Ensemble in 2006. This talk will discuss the origins of the project, inspiration from unlikely places, how the dramatic structure of the work took shape, and why, despite the success of the first performance, it proved to be the last “classical” work he was to write. Expect some contentious statements, some downright provocation, and more entertainment than this synopsis suggests.
This event is part of Klezmer South Brighton 2019 Festival, a full weekend of concerts, talks, workshops and more. Tickets for the evening concerts and events are booked separately. For full festival programme and booking other events of the weekend please go azoy.uk
