Fiesta Flamenco is back in Derby for a night of foot stomping, palmas, jaleo and authentic Flamenco dance ...

A chance to learn more about the vibrant rhythms, dance steps and sounds of Spain with a workshop on authentic Flamenco dance. Accompanied by live music participants will learn a short Flamenco choreography whilst immersing themselves in the rhythm and style. Dancing Flamenco builds confidence, promotes self-expression and above all is fun!

ABOUT THE TEACHER
*Diane Pickard; trained with the Spanish Dance Society from the age of 11.
*Worked as a professional dancer in the UK and Europe.
*Opened Fiesta Flamenco in April 2007 teaching Flamenco across the East Midlands.
*Continues to attend the Spanish Dance Society’s International Summer School in London each year and this has afforded her the opportunity to study with international teachers and dancers including Alejandro Molinero, Angel Fariña, Alicia Marques, Gemma de la Cruz, Angel Munoz and Inmaculada Ortega.
*Opened the first dedicated Flamenco studio in country in April 2016.

WORKSHOP DETAILS
Wednesday 20th February 2019, 7pm - 9pm
Level: Appropriate for Adult Beginners
(Minimum age: 14yrs. Must be accompanied by a participating adult)

WHAT DO I NEED?
Great opportunity to get dressed up and no experience necessary.
If you don't have dance or Flamenco shoes, wear shoes or boots with low, wide heel.

Ladies a long, wide skirt and hombres, trousers (no jeans)
Please bring bottled water and light snacks
