UK PREMIER PERFORMANCE FROM BELGIUM’S YOUNG VIRTUOSO VIOLINIST
ALEXANDRE CAVALIERE &
JAZZY STRINGS
A PASSIONATE AND SIZZLING ENSEMBLE THAT HAS SWUNG AROUND THE GLOBE
SUN/MON 16/17 AUG£15
Created in 1992 by Mario Cavaliere, Alexandre’s father, solo guitarist and musical professor. This bands love affair with Gypsy music and two giants of jazz music, Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grapelli, has taken them to the greatest festivals of Europe (Juan-the-Pines, Nice, Marciac, Samois-sur-Seine, Helsinki…) and they have performed with world greats of the Gypsy Swing world, such as Samson and Dorado Schmitt, Angelo Debarre, Bireli Lagrene and currently Rene Sopa. At 12, Alexandre’s violin virtuosity astonished his audiences and he was invited to Django d' Or, Brussels, and then Paris, where his success is immediately followed by his first album "L'ALBUM " is born (Hébra records). He can swing like a demon or jazz it up any way you like, a charismatic, warm performer, his audiences love his passion his fun and his contagious joy of his music. His acclaimed performances are too many to mention here – not many come along like this. This young man gets people on their feet brings joy to your heart and can leave a tear in the eye. Accompanied by his father Mario Cavaliere on solo guitar and long time friend and rhythm player Walter Gonella they are joined by London based Balkan double bass wizard Viktor Obsust. Le QuecumBar has known this young star and his family since he was 5 and watched his progress excitedly always knowing this day would come! Don’t miss this stirring performance of the best of Django and Stephane!
