Sowilo Media have teamed up with An Alternative Gathering to host the 6th and final annual 'DECADES' event, so, this year we have something very special for lovers of the Darkside! Accompanying the sumptuous synth led sounds of BLACK LIGHT ASCENSION and a fully-fleshed body of Joy Division material from CTRL, are two very exciting new Post Punk bands from respected players on the scene; LASHTAL and the Goth inspired InSECT.

CTRL is a project by musicians from post punk/dark folk band While Angels Watch in honour of Joy Division. Reconstructing material to a high level of authenticity, often including live or demo variations, their gigs have received praise from both those who saw Joy Division live and newer fans alike.

From the band: "Over the past few years we have had the privilege to play those timeless songs to an ever increasing, loyal band of aficionados and friends outside of the 'tribute band' circus. As this is the final DECADES event we have chosen to play a challenging set with some surprises, and while displaying our respect to Joy Division this show is also a thank-you to everyone who has supported us, you know who you are."

BLACK LIGHT ASCENSION celebrate their 10th Anniversary this year. The primary project of Australian musician Andrew Trail; members of Killing Joke, SPK and Altered States have all been involved with this electronic act, creating militant post-punk/industrial inspired dance songs with sequencers, drones and an abrasive guitar that sometimes brings to mind a mechanized, angst ridden version of Depeche Mode. Performances are rare - you should be here!

From the band: “For this special Joy Division celebration, Black Light Ascension will be pulling out the most melancholic heart breaking material from all our three albums. We look forward to presenting this specially curated set to London for the first time.”

LASHTAL are brand spanking new and we are proud to be hosting their debut gig. The classic post punk guitar chord progressions, playful synth melodies and constructive percussion section, provide a perfect backing for the energetic vocals of front man Lloyd James. With members of ATV, Crisis, Television Personalities and even a Hersham Boy on board, this band forge a sound that is greater than the sum of its parts. You heard it here first - come and see for yourself.

THE InSECT are a recently emerged London based, Goth inspired post punk 4-piece with a combination of male and female voices. Their sound could be described as the missing link between Bauhaus and Joy Division. This year has seen them develop and spread their impressive dark, spikey-edged music across the country and we are proud to host their first home gig of 2019. "Not comfortable – Not easy – Not to be missed".
