P | Sunday 26th May, 2019 |
N | 2:00pm |
The first of a monthly residency live from the basement of London's premier 3 storey victorian public house, The Betsy Trotwood. Your host Stephen Evens has curated for you variety of musical and artistic delights to fill every last Sunday of the month that he is in residence.
STEPHEN EVENS BAND
Your very own host Stephen Evens gathers his band of fine musicians to play a selection of songs from his forthcoming sophomore recorded effort EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH soon to be released on Onomatopoeia Records.
KATE ARNOLD - Hammered dulcimer, violin, vocals and darkness.
Kate Arnold some of you may know from her band Fear Of The Forest. Etherial, yet unworldly soundscapes supporting a mixture of original songs, sea shanties, reworked folk songs and subjects matter such as the a US army captain's diary entry, written at the front on 11th November 1918. My description does it no justice. Just make sure you are prepared to be spellbound.
BENJAMIN LOUCHE - RACONTEUR
Curator and host of the infamous Double R Club and host of performance art wrestling group Lucha Britannia, Benjamin will regale you with tales and reminiscences of what, I'm am not entirely sure of at present. Currently resident of London he will shortly be moving to the sweet, dark recesses of your mind.
MC: ANDREW O'NEIL
Andrew O'Neill is an award-winning stand-up comedian, musician and writer. His distinctive voice and alternative credentials have set him apart and allowed him to carve out a unique place in the comedy world. He has performed in over a dozen different countries, and is at home performing to rowdy weekend comedy clubs as much as to his own cult following. TV credits include Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Saxondale, 50 Years Of Rock Excess, The Blame Game, Spicks and Specks and Good News Week. His own Radio 4 stand-up show Pharmacist Baffler won an award.
TERRE DE LUNE - ACOUTIC PERFORMANCE
Spanish composer and singer for Low Life Empire “Inside Hurts” and contributor to Cancer Moon’s acoustic “Cancer Moon Onplugged” project. Currently singing with The Iron Need, Luis is currently working on his first solo project “Opera Omnia Vol.1 - Manikin Spectrum” under the name Terre de Lune. This will be his debut London performance.
