THE OCCULT IN BRITISH HORROR CINEMA in the 70’s
Gary Parsons will discuss various representations of magick and the occult as seen through the eyes of British horror cinema during the 60’s and 70’s. He will look at well known films such as late period Hammer Horror as well as independent films made by Tigon and Amicus and few obscure small movies and discuss their relation with the counter culture of the period.
Gary Parsons is a film maker and graduate in film from Goldsmiths College London whose previous talks have included ‘British Witchcraft Documentaries of the 1970’s’ and ‘Aleister Crowley and the Cinema of Magick’.

The talk will be followed by a screening of the 1973 Hammer classic The Satanic Rites of Dracula.
