Founder of Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band, Ashley Hutchings is joined on stage by Kellie While, Simon Care and Simon Nicol, for an evening of traditional English Christmas music, dancing and celebration. Folk enthusiasts will know Kellie from her work with The Albion Band and duo work with her mother Chris While. Simon Care is currently working with his new band, Banter, and has always had a passion for traditional English dance and song. Simon Nicol, founder member of Fairport finishes the line up to make this a truly festive treat. He is regarded as one of the finest acoustic guitarists in the world. His voice is pretty special too!

The Albion Christmas Band is a perfect blend of Christmas and winter songs - a mixture of traditional carols in lively arrangements and songs which are just on a wintry theme - blended with evocative or humorous readings and perhaps even a little solo Morris dancing from Simon Care.

Mix this in with a convivial atmosphere, plentiful opportunities for audience participation especially with the carols, add the similarly plentiful supply of free mince pies and fine real ales from the well-stocked bar, and it really would have to be the hardest of hearts that wouldn’t find itself put into a “Christmassy” mood.

Described in the Guardian as “the perfect antidote to the corporate Christmas”, this is a show you must not miss, it really is a perfect treat for the festive season!
