Composing music that both embraces and challenges western classical traditions, Prokofiev has emerged at the forefront of a new approach to classical music in the UK at the beginning of the 21st century. After completing his musical studies at Birmingham and York Universities and, dissatisfied with the seemingly insular world of contemporary classical music, he developed a parallel music career as a dance, grime, electro and hip hop producer. In 2003, he returned to classical, with the composition of his String Quartet No. 1. His music is often performed in non-traditional venues: East London night-clubs, ware-houses, and electronic music festivals. His Cello Multitracks for solo Cello + 8 multitrack cellos has been performed over 40 times internationally, frequently with live remixing from Gabriel.

Along with Gabriel we have Colin Alexander - Cello (Tre Voci and Addelam) and James Larter - Percussion.

Colin Alexander and James Larter will perform:
Music for cello and hand-percussion from Addelam's forthcoming album "Addelam Live at the Deal Festival". Their previous studio album, released in January and produced by Colin Alexander and Beni Giles, was focused on depicting the scenery and soundscapes of the coastline around Deal, East Kent, through music for cello and electronics.
