In WWII-occupied France, 6-year-old Sebastian tames the enormous yet gentle mountain dog Belle, who becomes his best friend and protector. When the Nazis begin rooting out Jewish refugees, Belle and Sebastian (with the help of Sebastian’s grandfather) undertake a treacherous journey to help their village. The famed French children’s novel beloved around the world has been remade for a new generation. Contains mild bad language.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s star, Tchéky Karyo, known to UK audiences as TV’s Baptiste.
