SUICIDAL BIRDS + PONY PACK

Event information

The Suicidal Birds from the Netherlands make a welcome return to the Yorkshire House, after playing at LAWM a while back.

They've been regularly played/done sessions for various BBC Radio and XFM shows.

Formed in Friesland, Holland a year ago, Suicidal Birds consists of Jessie on vocals/screaming/guitar, Chay on bass guitar/vocals, Sido on guitar and Roel on drums.

Armed with out-dated self-made amps, the 'Birds (the name inspired by the frequent number of birds flying into the window of singer Jessie's house) create a sound they call 'punk blues with a rock and roll flavour.'

Citing the likes of The Pixies and The Gun Club as inspiration, Suicidal Birds self-proclaimed 'sound-orgy' is described by the band as 'treacherously playful, exciting and inescapable... deeply rooted in the blues combined with the energy of punk.'

PONY PACK (also from the Netherlands)
'Pony Pack are a three-piece, consisting of a energetic drummer who tries (and fails at times) to control his Bonham-isms, a Juno-esque bass player who stands and commands and a guitarist whose sylvan movements and effortless rug-cutting motions are drawn from the classic tradition of Rock and Roll. I’m betting he really likes James Williamson [Raw Power era Stooges], which of course is fine by Incendiary. Pony Pack are entranced by the old Harlot/Mother Goddess idea that underpins the tradition of classic Rock Entertainment.
