The earnest quest by a stone sculptor (whose name is not James, as it happens) to sculpt the most perfect 'derriere' ever.

But how can a penniless, feral man ever hope to emulate Michelangelo’s David or Eva in the V&A sculpture rooms? And can the sculptor ever convince his girlfriend that such a single-minded endeavour could ever be regarded as highbrow?

Seedy, visceral and wholly irreverent this sculptor's pursuit takes you from deepest forest, to Rome, to life drawing classes at The Rising Sun Arts Centre in Reading and on, on, onto the heady heights of getting thrown out of the National Portrait Gallery.
