A powerful and dark story of Queen Anne, possibly the favourite wife of Henry VIII.
Lesley Smith historian, actress and curator of Tutbury Castle returns to Market Bosworth to perform one of her favourite characters Anne Boleyn this time in the atmospheric setting of St Peter’s Church.
The second wife of Henry VIII tells her own story which still holds intrigue and romance.
Enter the chamber of the Tower of London where a once proud queen prepares to die. Anne takes your hand through a journey of rejection, passion, love and terror. This is an unexpected tale which seeks to balance the story of Queen Anne which, of recent years, has been subject to some less than accurate representations. It is a powerful and dark presentation but the firm favourite amongst professional historians.
Lesley’s thorough research will set the records straight, and as always promises to entertain and educate. Her previous performances have sold out so early booking is advised .
The performance will last approximately one hour with no interval.
Suitable for 14+ with parental support as the presentation may contain some gruesome and graphic details in keeping with life in Tudor England.
Admission £12 on the door subject to availability.
