Fast rising star on the U.K. Folk/Americana scene Emily Mae Winters has that rare quality in a singer that makes critics reach for the superlatives. Described as having a voice that 'stops you in your tracks' and 'arresting, enthralling, tantalising' by Americana UK, Winters combines straight-to-the-heart bittersweetness with her own unique passion and drama in performance. Emily Mae Winters' exquisite songs which sit between the stormy seas of folk and country are influenced by artists including Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris.
Her second album 'High Romance', produced by award winning producer Matt Ingram (Laura Marling, The Staves, Lucy Rose. Florence and the Machine) was released last year to critical acclaim. The record reached No.3 in the iTunes country charts and was selected in Folk Radio UK's top ten albums of the year. The record picked up plays on BBC Radio 2 Country with Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2 Good Morning Sunday and more, leading to invites to play a host of festivals including Black Deer Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival and Moseley Festival. 2019 saw Winters play her third U.K. headline band tour, playing multiple sell out shows as well as supporting award winning Nashville artist Molly Tuttle on her U.K. dates. She won the PRS Emerging Artist of the Year Award and will showcase at Folk Alliance International 2020 in New Orleans supported by the International Showcase Fund. Her U.K. tour this April will feature stripped back sets of songs from High Romance accompanied by award winning keyboardist Jacob Stoney as well as some new material.
