Event information

Kellet Gut Shantymen were formed in January 2018 for a one off performance for the midwinter festival at the Coach and Horses Pub on the Deal/Sandwich Road. The crew enjoyed the singing so much and were soon asking “When can we do it again?”
Since then, 2 performances at the Deal Centre for the Retired, busking on the pier apron, Deal Maritime Museum fundraiser, Rosslyn Court guesthouse in Cliftonville, the Fez pub in Margate, Astor Theatre in Deal and yet more to come in 2019 with another performance at the Coach and Horses and Rosslyn Court. We have also been invited to sing for the Bruderhof Community in Nonington and even a trip to St Omer in September.
Just look at that photo! You can't imagine what a great evening you are in for ... they have hidden depths ...and appalling jokes, presumably plucked from the self same depths. This is the third time they have visited Rosslyn Court we just can't get enough of their quirky humour and inclusive songs.
All monies raised by Kellet Gut Shantymen by performing go to the Walmer Lifeboat.

IMPRESSED perform sea songs, including shanties, and also more reflective or humorous songs, both from the tradition and from contemporary sources. They sing a cappella as well as accompanied by a variety of instruments, and are noted for their rousing chorus songs, inviting audience participation.
Roger Resch (vocals & accordion) Roger is an organiser of Tonbridge Folk Club (Kent) and a former resident of Seaford Folk Club (Sussex). For years he has had bookings on the Kent / Sussex folk circuit both individually and with Bob Kenward as the “Wealden Ramblers”. Roger also guests for local folk festivals. His strong voice and accordion accompaniments are supported by a wide repertoire of songs and tunes.

She was a resident of Seaford Folk Club and a former resident of Tonbridge Folk Club, who has performed as a guest for East Anglian maritime festivals. As well as vocals, Liz plays whistle, concertina, autoharp and accordion.
There will be a bar. There is always coffee and tea at Rosslyn Court and usually cake!
his is a seated and hushed event but joining in the chorus is compulsive.
