Weâ€™re delighted to be presenting The Lovely Eggâ€™s biggest Manchester show to date! The Lovely Eggs follow up dates at Manchesterâ€™s Gorilla and Londonâ€™s The Garage, which have both sold out with months to spare, with their two biggest shows to date: at the O2 Ritz Manchester and Londonâ€™s Heaven!

The Lovely Eggs are an underground surreal-psych punk rock duo from northern England. They have a fierce DIY ethos that music should have no rules.

On 3 April they release their new album, I am Moron, bearing the fruit of their second collaboration with Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, Mogwai, MGMT, Tame Impala) at his studio in upstate New York.

Lead single This Decision (released in January 2020) unfurled a seething two-minute-and-fifty-seconds of rage, capturing the zeitgeist of disillusioned Brexit Britain. It reached #1 in both the physical and vinyl charts and was hammered by DJs at BBC 6 Music including Iggy Pop, Marc Riley, Steve Lamacq, Chris Hawkins, Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson, plus John Kennedy at Radio X.

With EIGHT BBC 6 Music sessions under their belt, as well as sessions for Radio One and Radio X, The Lovely Eggs have enjoyed huge support from UK radio. And they continue to sell out gigs across the UK without the help of management, booking agent or record label support.

With their no-nonsense attitude The Lovely Eggs are a breath of fresh air in an industry where true authenticity is hard to find.

They have produced five albums. The last, This is Eggland, saw their first encounter with Dave Fridmann as producer/mixer after Holly left a drunken message on his studio answerphone asking him to work with them. Dave got back in touch with them a year later and Eggland was born. It was released in February 2018 to critical acclaim and announced by HMV as one of their Top 50 Albums of the year.

Their single Wiggy Giggy was added to the BBC 6 Music Playlist and the track received massive support from DJs across the board at BBC 6 Music with This is Eggland declared Album of The Day. With 5- and 4-star national press reviews, the album went straight to #9 in the Independent album charts. Uncut Magazine described it as 'exhilarating and trashy', the Guardian as 'marvellous', 'yes, that good!' from The Quietus and 'unrelenting' from Pitchfork.

Their follow-up single Big Sea shot straight into the UK Vinyl singles charts at #2. This was followed by three sold-out UK tours playing rammed chaotic shows to a growing army of fans.

With releases across the world, The Lovely Eggs have played hundreds of gigs around the UK, USA and Europe. Their songs have been produced by Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), remixed by Tjinder Singh (Cornershop) and sampled by Zane Lowe for Scroobius Pip.

With observational and often surreal lyrics about life The Lovely Eggs have a powerful raw sound that creates the sonic illusion of a band twice their size. The result is a mix of heavy psych, pop and strangeness and they have become known for their ferocious yet joyous live performances.
