GALLERY ONLINE TALK: THE END OF BAROQUE: A FLOWERY DEATH ON THE ROCKS OF ROCOCCO

Presented by: Southampton Cultural Services
0SOUTHAMPTON: City Art Gallery Online
PTuesday 15th December, 2020
N6:50pm

Event information

Artist and Art historian guides us through the Rococco, often referred to as the high Baroque movement.

Ornamental, flamboyant and theatrical, it was the backdrop for the Palace of Versailles and the court of Louis XVI of France. An excessive style for an excessive time? Compared to the order and refinement of the Classical style, Rococo was seen as gaudy, illogical and wonderfully indulgent.
While all ticket buyers will receive the same level of service, your generosity is a great help in making sure these events are affordable for all.

Clear instructions and details for how to log in to this talk will be emailed on purchase. If for any reason you cannot see this email, please contact us asap. Tickets are required for each device being used to access the event. Tickets are non-refundable, unless cancelled by the organiser.
