Event information

The Warlocks:
Through their latest album ‘The Mirror Explodes’ it is disorientation through a longer lens — pictures of luck, longing, losing, moods and fever dreams scrambled in the haze of near and distant memory, the band’s signature amalgam of White Light/White Heat attack; space panoramas, fuzz, melancholy, and melody is present and potent. But there is vivid focus too. Throbbing bass lines, distant rolling thunder drums, and zombie rattlesnake shake are a heartbeat of strange, ominous vitality. Guitars howl, slash and bounce like light. Bobby Hecksher’s vocals sound oddly alone and unsettlingly intimate all at once. And just when you think you understand the sum of these sonic elements, they become something else.

Wild Palms:
Wild Palms are a ridiculously talented, hyper-inventive, unsigned band from London armed with a sound like a brooding, anglophile White Denim and early Birthday Party...and a passionate love affair with creating music, A band entirely without pretension, with realistic aims, making great music and genuinely doing it for the love of it, that does genuinely seem to be these guys 'thing', this lot are fastly proving to be a class act.

The Flies: All Too Human is brazenly sexual and painfully beautiful in equal measure, like The Velvets on a David Lynch set, Dark, arresting, exotic, sexual and apprehensive all at once. The Flies make sensuous, stealthy music that emulates the depth and mood of Sixties influences like Roy Orbison and The Shangri-Las, within the context of modern production.
