Event information

Having languished long in the trumpet-muted wilderness of the stand-up circuit, musical comedy is finally getting the recognition it deserves as a genre in it's own right.

Featuring a selection of the finalists and performers from this year's Tuborg Musical Comedy Awards and a special guest performance from Free Fringe Legend and comedy institution Peter Buckley Hill, this show contains four of the finest musical comedy acts of the moment:

Peter Buckley Hill: (Founder of the Free Fringe, Three Weeks Editor"s Choice 2006) - "A titan". THE SCOTSMAN

Frisky and Mannish: (Finalists of the TMCA 2009) “White-hot ones to watch.” TIME OUT CRITIC'S CHOICE 2008/9

Isy Suttie: (Best Female Newcomer Nominee for British Comedy Awards 2008, Dobby from Peep Show) - "Her songs were hypnotic: blending hilarity, lyrical brilliance and pathos so adeptly." CHORTLE

Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer (Best Act Runner-Up TMCA 2009) -"Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer's 'chap-hop' ("reconnecting rap with the Queen's English") was note-perfect" - THE TELEGRAPH

MC Ed Chappel
The night will be hosted by the fabulous, shocking, founder of Avin a Larf and charming son of Peter Chappel: "Takes after his father": Formerly Amanda Chappel. "Could have been a very average banker" - Peter Chappel

Set at the deliciously irreverent Madame Jo Jo’s, the evening is perfect for those who like their comedy to be not just clever, but unashamedly silly. It promises to be a glorious celebration of absurdity, wit and musical comedy genius.
