[Day 4: 30/07/2021)

23 Walks (Paul Morrison, 2020):

Old-age romance, dogs and a sunny London park - what else could you ask for? Fern (Alison Steadman) is a 60-something-year-old divorcee. Her husband left her for his much younger secretary. Dave (Dave Johns, from Ken Loach’s I, Daniel Blake) is a widower of around the same age, his wife having passed away a couple of years earlier. Dave is a garrulous and gregarious Northern type, while Fern is a far more reserved and cranky Londoner. They meet while walking their pooches on the hills of Hampstead Heath, and love soon blossoms. But what initially looks like a romantic comedy very gradually morphs into something far more serious and profound, with a few splashes of social realism. Don’t forget to bring your canine companion to this dog-friendly screening!
