The brightest outdoor cinema in London is opening up!

British cinema will shine like never before in South East London this summer, and you too can catch the sun rays! Sunset Screening Sessions will present 10 glistening British films every Friday night after sunset at Beckenham Place Park, from July 2nd to September 10th. Britain is colourful and diverse: our programme includes comedy, horror, thriller, drama Black, LGBT movies and more, spanning from present-day all the way back to the beginning of the 20th century. You will get dazzled by the light!

Crock of Gold: A Few Rounds with Shane McGowan plus Q&A with the director (Julien Temple, 2020):

Shane McGowan gets the Julien Temple treatment with the help of limelight grabbing Johnny Depp, in this superb rockumentary and box office hit from last year. Success comes late in the film but modern-day Shane McGowan, 62, is there from the start, looking and sounding 25 years older than his age. The wit is preserved but he’s locked in a failing body; trapped in a cage of his admittedly unashamed making.  The transition from punk bands to The Pogues’ contemporary reimaginings of Irish tradition is great to see. Music seems to have saved Shane. At least for a time. The definitive documentary on the Irish music icon.


COVID Safe Measures: The UK Government has announced that all the measures will be lifted on June 21sr. Any changes regarding this policy will be immediately addressed. Please do not attend the event if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.

Food and drink: You are not allowed to bring your own food and drink to our event. Hot food, snack, alcoholic and soft drinks will be available for purchase before and during the screening.

Screening rules: The event will start roughly 30 minutes after dusk to achieve a clearer image projection. An adult must accompany Under-16s. There will be a marked area for blanket ticket holders.

Weather policy: The film screenings go ahead in all but extreme weather. The screening will be postponed/cancelled in the event of heavy, prolonged rain or high winds. There will be no refunds unless the screening is cancelled.
