An exclusive solo performance from the Fontaine frontman, over in the UK on a book reading tour, and a rare chance to see Willy play solo - just him and acoustic guitar.
Richmond Fontaine are widely acknowledged as being at the forefront of modern Americana, and Willy Vlautin's lyrics are one of their most lauded elements. Compared to the like of Raymond Carver and William Kennedy: often bleak, but often hopeful, he pens tales of the down-at-heel, of decent people who happen to make the wrong choices and struggle to deal with the consequences. And horses; he likes to write about horses...
We're expecting to hear songs from the new Fontaine album. And, who knows, we may get the odd reading too :-)

(Note:the Basement may be a 'new' venue for many of you. It is located in the North Laines area of Brighton - and is only a short walk from Brighton train station. Kensington Street is the continuation of Sydney Street, and runs parallel to Kensington Garden (that's the pedestrianised street, with Resident Records on it).
