Percussionist Evan Carson and multi-instrumentalist Georgia Lewis join forces combining thunderous rhythms with intimate harmonies in a blend of traditional folk music and progressive rock celebrating European and British folk traditions whilst shining a light on the follies and history of this island.
Evan and Georgia return with a new live concert featuring music from both solo albums ‘OCIPINSKI’ and “THE BIRD WHO SINGS FREEDOM’.They’ll also be performing new and exclusive tracks from their upcoming duo album set for release 2022.
Evan has performed and recorded with prog luminaries Iamthemorning and Tim Bowness and has worked with folk heavy weights Sam Kelly and the Lost Boys, Seth Lakeman and The Kate Rusby Band. His debut solo album features guest appearances by Jim Grey (Caligula’s Horse) and virtuoso pianist Gleb Kolyadin.
Chris Cleverley will performing a set of his wonderful guitar work and thought provoking lyrics. He was born under a solstice moon and since the hazy twilight of that urban, honeysuckle June, a trail of mysticism has followed in his wake.
From the fairy-light intimacy of concert venues, to the stages of world-renowned festivals, Chris has built a sturdy following in his 7 years touring the new British Folk Scene. Outstanding musicianship and warm delivery combine to underpin the infectious draw of his unique songwriting prowess. Chris’ visceral lyrical style pays homage to the American greats, Elliott Smith, Paul Simon & Sufjan Stevens. His songs reveal the presence of an enduring human spirit within the cosmic loneliness of the 21st Century emotional landscape.
A broad back catalogue examines diverse themes from deteriorating anxious minds & damaging gender constructs to literary heroines and hospital beds. Powered by a strong social conscience, his music serves as a vehicle for exploring constructive, meaningful change.
Doors and bar at 7pm, music at 7:40 pm.
