The Curst Sons unique rugged version of American roots music has a delightfully dirt-road quality to it, mixing blues, gospel and bluegrass with a kick-ass stomp and a hefty dose of wry humour. There is no pretension here or oh-so-clever musical posturing, just an authentic and original sound, brilliantly catchy lyrics and real soul. Performing mainly original material with a few distinctive arrangements of traditional songs, they have released six full length albums and one 10” vinyl EP on their own Curst Mountain label. Over the years they have played venues ranging from tiny country pubs to festival main stages, appeared on several local radio shows and recorded two live sessions on the much missed Mark Lamarr BBC Radio 2 show.
