Twisterella Live on 22nd August 2009 is very pleased to announce we will be playing host to Little Comets with support from local bands Searching for Seraphim and Down in Paris.

This is your chance to see three great bands in a very intimate venue and promises to be one of the biggest gigs Blackburn with Darwen will see this year. Be sure to get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Little Comets:

Little Comets craft music to counter-act the chill factor of their Newcastle-upon-Tyne rehearsal facilities. Echoing the boisterous exuberance of 'I Should Coco'-era Supergrass, coupled with a lyrical adventure more reminiscent of a by-gone era that thrust such things as XTC into the mainstream!

Following the success of their debut single One Night In October on Lucky Number Records, Which reached #3 in the Indie Single Charts Little Comets embarked on their first headline live tour of 2009 playing venues such as Glasgow King Tuts, Newcastle O2 Academy and York Fibbers. The band soon got signed to Columbia records which boasts a roster including Glasvegas and Kasabian.

Mining from the same rich seam as acts like Vampire Weekend, Modest Mouse and Black Kids, the band entered the studio to start recording their debut album in February.

Little Comets have come from nothing to quickly rising as one of the bands to watch in 2009; selling out tours across the north east, causing havoc at universities around the country with their impromptu gigs in lecture halls and bagging support from the likes of Huw Stephens, Zane Lowe and Radio 1, for whom the band played at their
Big weekend 09 in May alongside the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Doves, White Lies, Bombay Bicycle Club and Florence and the machine to name a few.

With a new single out shortly and an album before the end of the year the future is bright, the future is full of Little Comets!

Searching For Seraphim

Searching For Seraphim are a five piece from Blackburn, Lancashire. One of the best bands to have come out of Blackburn for many years, they have recently played support slots to Tom Hingley and Sergeant. Searching for Seraphim play their own brand of bitter sweet rock music.

The band describe themselves as new and unheard, in Jamie Dodd they have a energetic front man who delights in getting the crowd going whilst the rest of the band compliment each with their own style to make this band one of the most original you will hear for a long
while.

Down In Paris:

Down In Paris are a determined four-piece from the Northwest who came from nowhere. They have gone from strength to strength playing gigs up and down the country gaining support from the likes of Twisted Wheel, John Kennedy (XFM), Peter Hook (New Order/Joy Division) and many radio stations.

The band have recently recorded a live session for MUTV and recorded 'The Backbite Of Last Nights Adventures E.P' with Alan Smyth at 2fly studios (Arctic Monkeys, Reverand & The Makers, Pulp). Other highlights include being awarded the accolade of unsigned band of the week by John Kennedy of XFM and doing a live interview on BBC radio Lancashire, things are looking good for these lads in 2009.

Recent support slots include Screaming Lights, The Backhanded Compliments (ex-Millburn) and Aziz Ibrahim (ex-Stone Roses).
