Independent animation is an art form that continues to thrive and develop as a breathtaking medley of styles, materials, techniques and production – from hand-drawn, paint on glass, collage, sculpture, cut-outs, puppets, abstract to some of the more interesting developments in CGI – all of which can be seen at this year’s London International Animation Festival.

Selected from 60 graduate showreels, this is a look at the best student work from all around the world – the first step on the animation ladder for these talented filmmakers, and the first time their wild and wonderful imaginations have been unleashed. Stop-motion, drawn animation, collage, cut-out, CGI, clay, ink and almost every other technique these animators can dream up are all on display here. 30 wondrous films in 2 screenings from the future stars of our animation universe.

This is the second of two student programmes, the first part screens before at 7:30pm. You can buy tickets for both screenings for just £14/£10 + booking fee.
