THE WOLFHOUNDS
Originally formed as teenagers in 1984, The Wolfhounds released four critically acclaimed LPs before initially disbanding in 1990, after appearing on the legendary and influential C86 cassette, recording three John Peel sessions for BBC Radio One and touring the UK and Continent extensively on their own and in support to My Bloody Valentine, The House of Love and The Wedding Present. The band’s acknowledged and audible influence stretches from Nirvana to the Manic Street Preachers, and all the way to Fontaines DC – but musically they remain ahead of all.
The band reformed properly in 2006 at the request of St Etienne’s Bob Stanley to celebrate 20 years since the release of C86 and inflicted a severe guitar noisefest on an unsuspecting indiepop crowd at London’s ICA. Since 2012 they have been recording and releasing new material – including 2015’s Middle Aged Freaks, 2017’s Untied Kingdom (or How to Come to Terms With Your Culture) – repeatedly showing that they can still blow any act half their age offstage, while outclassing them creatively in every way. The Wolfhounds are now back and better than ever with their new LP, Electric Music – probably their greatest album yet.
The band has become truly (hyper-)active again, performing at several popfests (including Berlin and New York) and Stewart Lee’s All Tomorrow’s Parties, as well as regular club dates in the UK and Europe – Stewart has also written glowing sleevenotes to the new record.
The band continue to be more relevant and adventurous than ever and, despite their indie roots, have more in common with the likes of Richard Dawson and Sleaford Mods than their old jangly peers. Electric Music grabs their home country’s woes by the horns and gives them the kicking they deserve!
From the press:
• “Fantastically caustic … always tougher and more canny than their peers” – Uncut.
• “It makes for an incredibly thrilling journey” – Mojo.
• “The ‘Hounds’ bark is frequently matched by their bite” – Record Collector.
• “Since their reformation in 2005, they’ve continued to develop their sound without losing the fury that made their songs so memorable the first time round” – Sounds XP website (No3 in best reissues, no20 in best tracks of the year).
• “Well worth your time and money” – Flipside Dec 2014.

The Lovely Basement
Born from an attempt to imagine what the Velvet Underground might have sounded like if they were from Nashville, indie four-piece The Lovely Basement combine floaty harmonies, thoughtful guitar, smart lyrics and textured sounds. They've also been likened (Louder Than War, Shindig Magazine) to Yo La Tengo, Stereolab, Suzanne Vega and Galaxie 500.
Death, redemption, favourite places, outrage and modern bewilderment all find a voice in their shimmering collections of lovingly crafted songs.
THE JESUS BOLT
The Jesus Bolt are Hazel Winter and Gerard Starkie.
Hazel Winter, described by Q Magazine as “The West Country’s first lady of noir-ish guitar blues” and Louder Than War, as, “…a low-fi genius being intermittently possessed by the spirits of Victoria Wood and Ian Dury “, played guitar for The Blue Aeroplanes in the early 90s and has since released a string of albums, produced numerous videos and published her first book of poetry , “I’m scared of the pig on The City Farm” in Dec 2018.
When Gerard Starkie’s band Witness released the first of 2 albums on Island records in 1999 , The Times described his vocals as; ” imbued with that nebulous quality of soul, fragile, sensitive and exuding a dignified stoicism doubtless borne of experience. ”
Starkie has gone on to release 2 solo albums and toured extensively with The Blue Aeroplanes.
Together as The Jesus Bolt, they have released 2 EP’s ; Error and Industry and That Unwanted Present and have completed work on their debut album due for release November 2021
