Event information

Over The Moon are award winning roots/swing multi-instrumentalists/vocalists. Canadians Suzanne Levesque and Craig Bignell met, fell in love, got married and discovered their voices blend so well together that people often tear up upon hearing them sing.

Their music is a wild ride from 40's sounding western swing and Appalachian old-time, to cowboy blues.  Simple and sweet, all of their material has a common thread that speaks of the Canadian west and on their UK release, reviews were glowing.

Living on a ranch in the foothills of Alberta's Rocky Mountains, it's inevitable there will be a strong sense of place and the rhythms of the land when you start to make music. When the couple released their debut album, the resonances were there for all to hear. reflecting the pulse of life, lived in a territory that is dirt-hard, rugged and beautiful.

Their first CD "Moondancer", was released in 2017 and it reflects the beautiful two-part harmony style that they are known for and the wide array of acoustic instruments that they play. Most of the songs are original and tell stories of life lived in Southern Alberta's ranching country. It's a wild ride that takes in styles from 40s Western Swing and Appalachian Old-Time featuring their superb harmony vocals and a wide array of acoustic instruments.

John Statz has released nine studio albums and performed all over North America and Europe over the course of his fifteen-year career. The Boston Globe has called John’s music electric, urgent folk; aching, sweet country-rock while American Songwriter has said that he writes the kind of songs that float through your mind and stay nestled in your thoughts long after listening. John has worked with some of the best producers in the genre, including Bo Ramsey (Lucinda Williams, Greg Brown) on his 2012 release Old Fashioned, Jeffrey Foucault (Kris Delmhorst, Caitlin Canty) on a 2015 album TULSA, and Denver songwriting friend Megan Burtt on 2017’s The Fire Sermon. He’s more recently taken a turn towards the production chair, self-producing 2018’s Darkness on the San Juans and co-producing 2020’s Early Riser, along with Kate Hannington, Billy Conway, and Jeremy Moses Curtis.
