STRAY! Been trying to get this awesome band for years! They have such a history, some of it pretty colourful, going back to the 60's, all I can say is read their website and Wikipedia for more details.
The group's brand of melodic, hook-laden hard rock proved to be a popular draw on the local club scene during the early 1970s. However the band did not have commercial success with its record releases. At one stage Charlie Kray (brother of the Kray twins Ronnie and Reggie), was their manager. (I said it was colourful!) The group's early musical style consisted of blues rock, acid rock and psychedelic rock. They then went on to join the hard rock and progressive rock movement.
There have been many changes of lineups but the driving force, Del Bromham, has continued throughout the years. His passion, humour and integrity is clear to be seen. As well as being a fab musician - talented songwriter and amazing guitarist - his stage presence is magnificent. He brings such joy, always with some banter, he has the rare ability to make a large venue such as Giants of Rock Festival in Minehead, (which STRAY are asked back to every year) feel intimate.
Along with his stunning band Del will have you open mouthed at his musicality, as well as his stories, you are guaranteed to leave with a massive grin on your face!
VAMBO: Four-piece rock band based in London, UK.
With an enigmatic seduction that echoes an unmistakable 70s aura – Vambo are a band who allow their influences to permeate through them, yet breathe out an air that captivates their audience through a current, exciting and intuitive execution. Vambo were recently featured in Classic Rock Magazine's 'High Hopes' spread. Their eponymous, critically acclaimed debut album is steeped in sharp musical intelligence and finds the band in full creative tilt delivering hard-hitting, re-tooled classic rock with a contemporary edge. They are making waves every time they play.
