Kara Grainger is an established name amongst the top flight international contemporary female blues/rock guitarists and vocalists, her slide-guitar virtuosity drawing inevitable comparisons with the great Bonnie Raitt.

Classic song-writing skills, smooth sultry vocals, and the ability to whip up a storm with a fiery slide guitar - very few can boast this set of trump cards, but it just happens to be the hand dealt to Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist Kara Grainger.

Grainger knows how to get inside a song's lyric, placing her own indelible stamp on such classics as Robert Johnson’s “Come On In My Kitchen” and the Allman Brothers “Whipping Post”. But Grainger is no throwback to the '70s rock scene. Although her inspiration is drawn from the same spring, there is a healthy dosage of 21st Century chic and funk thrown in. 

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Kara Grainger perform in Europe. A familiar name to many UK blues fans, Kara has clocked up a few miles touring here in the UK and France, with shows in London (including a show at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s), Worthing, Bridport, Stroud, Southampton, Blakeney, Chelmsford, Oxford, Leicester, Keithley and Edinburgh.

This is a great opportunity to see a London show by a rising star of the 21st century American blues scene.

Mississippi MacDonald is riding high as one of the foremost names on the UK blues and roots scene, with the release of his album Do Right, Say Right topping the UK blues charts and a string of live shows in clubs and at festivals, including London's 100 Club. His earthy vocals and passionate guitar playing have marked him out as a highly talented interpreter of the blues.

Mississippi will be opening for Kara Grainger with a solo acoustic spot. Don't miss this exciting performer.
