Alastair Caplin & Ewan Macdonald launch a new series of nights in the woods at the Hillyfield on Dartmoor.
A gig like no other... Enjoy a beautiful night in a traditional timber-framed barn nestled in a secluded wooded valley. Fine Forest Food & Wine.... Good People... Sauna & star-gazing by the fire.

Two of the best violinists we know join forces to offer a deep dive into their shared Gaelic tradition.
Expect a sensational performance of heart-wrenchingly beautiful laments on fiddles, guitar, mandolin and bouzouki interspersed with blisteringly fast tune sets.
Gaelic song from the duo’s native Gàidhealtachd feature heavily in the set, with poignant harmonium-accompanied Òrain Mòra (‘great songs’) interspersed with rapid tongue-twisting pùirt-a-beul (Gaelic mouth-music).

Hailing respectively from the Isle of Lewis and Strathpeffer in Scotland, Alastair Caplin (The Langan Band, Band of Burns) and Ewan Macdonald (Root & Branch, Garefowl, Band of Burns) have come together to take
audiences on an evocative and varied journey through the music of their homeland.

The ticket price includes cocktail / soft drink and raw chocolate truffles on arrival as well as forest inspired foods throughout the night. Imagine Cheese & breads, wild mushroom bruschetta, Venison medallions, nettle fries etc.
Bar and Drinks available.

Important Information:
-LIFT-SHARE where possible & ARRIVE ON TIME for a procession down to the barn.... otherwise you might get lost in the woods.
-Wear good outdoor shoes & clothing (there's a walk across the moor so be ready for the weather)
-Bring a Torch! (Head Torch is best)
-Please take a lateral flow test before coming
-Bring a Towel if you wish to use the sauna

Covid19 requirements
This is a spacious indoor / outdoor venue with good airflow & high barn roof. Even so we would very much like you to take a lateral flow test before coming to this event.
There will be hand-sanitiser on arrival and in shared spaces. Please use this. Mask wearing optional. Please feel free to dress up.
