anarchistwood - Taking conceptual punk pranksterism cabaret to new highs, new lows… “as if the (hyped) 1977 music industry event known as ‘punk’ hadn’t taken place”, imagine instead an “alternative history where the anarchic proto punk from Cleveland and Detroit seamlessly led into No Wave, Post Punk and Industrial and is still happily evolving” Fabulously challenging but accessible punk pop attack fronted by the enigmatic and unstoppable Frank Cutter, for fans of Destroy All Monsters, Bikini Kill, Teenage Jesus, X Ray Spex... New album #chiasmata, due to be released in march 2022, has been pressed apparently a mass of pink vinyl is cooling on the slab. Nicely nicely.
Agents of the Lexicon - 'Honk n Screech were going nowhere fast, playing the dive bar circuit on the edge of a wormhole in the outer Scrab Nebula, when this cat stepped forward, calling himself Double Microwave. "I got some beats for you clowns" he growled, and threw 'em a melted mix tape.. '...yeah! Fatal Microbes meets Throbbing Gristle thru Cabaret Voltaire with a hint of sampledelic rave culture a la punker. Superb.
Rites Of Hadda - self proclaimed 'Sax 'n' drag and rock 'n' roll' act...or... Anarcho pagan gothic psychedelic Witchpunk. Borne from a weekly jam session in a London squat. The ritual of playing music birthed the Rites of Hadda.
SPEW - The song High Frequency Word must be the most creative and artistic prolific use of the F Word I've ever fucking encountered. Fuck me! 'Angular, no wave, punk wonk sounds. Sax, bass, noise guitar. Danceable songs of toxic dirt, lust and grandma.' Yes...A bit of early Fall, some skronky sax a la Beefheart and Blurt, something of Kleenex/Lilliput... great stuff. Cos Chapman - Guitar of course...Gardyloo Spew - Voice & Sax, M J Ultra - Bass. BoyBlue - Drums & percussion.
Cos Chapman will be demonstrating the art piece guitar which passed from Johnny Deluxe to Candiflp Blackwood. Cos has made this rare and beautiful instrument now in working order. Come see Cos play Can-Deluxe to open this clowning extravaganza at the Dublin Castle on April Fools Day.
