The Varukers
https://www.facebook.com/thevarukers
The Varukers are a UK D-beat band formed in 1979 by vocalist Anthony "Rat" Martin, which produced its most influential recordings in the early 1980s. The band are one of the first to play in the musical style of the hardcore punk band Discharge, known as D-beat. Also, like Discharge, The Varukers' lyrics carry an anarchist political ideology.

Ättestor
https://www.facebook.com/attestorpunx
Brighton based Attestor have pounding drums and guitar tone worthy of heavyweights like Poison Idea. Songs that chug along or accelerate. Vocals shouted into the void peek out from the wall of sound. Attestor’s songs are personal (aren’t all songs?) but living in the society we do, personal quickly becomes political.
Understandably, if you have to deal with fascists coming to your town and bastard landlords driving up rents you’ll end up with songs like Greedy Landlords. Choruses like Always Antifa are based on real life not some abstract concept. With a shouty chorus here and there to drive the message home, of course.
Many people sat up and noticed when this collection of songs first came out. They had a live performance planned but it was cut short by this goddamned virus. A physical release was the obvious next move whilst we await the return of live music.
Motörhead style umlauts adorn the A of Ättestor giving the whole look a feel of Scandinavia. You pretty much get what you would expect. If you like your punk fast and heavy all tied up with a monochrome bow then this is for you.
Elements of the heaviness of bands such as Wolf Brigade can be heard with crushing guitar and relentless drums filling the gaps in the downstrokes. Every now and then there is a hint of Totalitar.
Records surely have to follow? This band are definitely one to watch.
