Derek Granger was head hunted by the Financial Times as their first drama and film critic. He went on to produce Coronation Street in its early days. He later went on to produce Brideshead Revisited, which featured his close friend Laurence Olivier and was awarded a BAFTA for Best Drama Series in 1982.
We are delighted that Derek has accepted an invitation to come and talk about his life on the day after his 101st birthday.
David Grindley read English literature and philosophy at the University of York and then became a theatre director. His keynote productions are Loot, Abigail’s Party, Journey’s End, The Philanthropist, What The Butler Saw, The American Plan, Copenhagen, and The Gigli Concert. In 2007, David’s production of Journey’s End won the Tony Award for Best Revival.
Derek and David are both Old Eastbourians.
Ticket price includes of a glass of champagne and a piece of birthday cake.
A bar will be open before and after this event and we will be happy to accept donations in CASH only.
