Join us to celebrate True North Music's first event at the Greystones since 2020, with a special double bill of two superb folk-Americana artists from the USA!

Award-winning rising star of roots music Jake Blount is an exceptional banjoist, fiddler and singer, and a winner of the 2020 Steve Martin Banjo Prize. His debut solo album Spider Tales was released in 2020 to widespread acclaim, with glowing reviews from The Guardian and Rolling Stone among others. Jake’s work shines a light on the major contributions that Black, Indigenous and LGBTQ artists have made to American folk traditions. He has studied with roots music luminaries including Rhiannon Giddens and Bruce Molsky, and will be performing with his own accomplished four-piece stringband.

Vivian Leva & Riley Calcagno are based in North Carolina and combine old time Americana, folk and country music, with compelling songs, gorgeous harmonies and exquisite musicianship on acoustic guitars, fiddle and clawhammer banjo. The duo’s debut album was released in 2021, produced by acclaimed Grammy-winning Cajun musician Joel Savoy. Vivian began writing songs and performing at the age of nine, and Riley has also been immersed in traditional music from an early age, co-founding barnstorming stringband The Onlies when he was just eight years old!

This is going to be an incredible night of music from six outstandingly talented musicians. Expect a mix of footstomping fiddle tunes and evocative songs, ranging across Americana, folk, old time, bluegrass, jazz, blues and acoustic country.
