Event information

Michelle Plum (Ex Chumbawamba) and Nick B Hall (Ex Magna Carta) are PLUMHALL, an electrifying duo from Yorkshire whose award winning original songs are earning them well deserved plaudits internationally. PLUMHALL pack a punch with powerful acoustic (and occasional electric) guitars, a sprinkling of electronica and luscious harmony-driven textures of original contemporary folk rock and pop

PLUMHALL have performed at The London Palladium with the legendary Al Stewart, cementing their fierce reputation on the UK live circuit. They have also written music for, and appeared in, a major British cinematic release called The Runaways, starring Mark Addy, Tara Fitzgerald & BAFTA winner Mollie Windsor. They have been joined on stage by Bob Dylan's legendary guitarist Larry Campbell, and have performed with Peter Tork, Phil Beer, Ian McNabb, Chris Leslie, Dave Nachmanoff, to name a few.

Their debut album Thundercloud (SPLID Records/Proper Distribution) was voted one of The Guardian and Observer's Hidden Gems and their second studio album The Ghost Of Noise was released May 2020 during the first lockdown to critical acclaim. They have built a loyal international audience through their live performances online and onstage.

“Articulate, penetrating lyrics with captivating melodies and....irresistible choruses. Arresting vocals and that distinctive big acoustic sound.” - R2 Magazine

“A fine duo...go and see them if you get the chance” - Steve Knightley - Show of Hands

“Their chemistry as a duo makes them special [with] sumptuous vocal harmonies and telepathic guitar interactions. Michelle is one of the UK’s leading chanteuses. Nick is a consummate storyteller, powerful vocalist and exceptional guitarist.” - Dave Scott - Blues In Britain Magazine

“A mighty force...smart lyric writing and wonderful harmonies set them above most of their contemporaries. It is rare indeed that we get to see writers and performers of such distinction” Miles Hunt -The Wonder Stuff

“A superduo...a wealth of talent...a real sense of passion and attack”- Fatea Magazine

“a soundscape devoid of audible seams...music that reaches out to invite you bask in its embrace” - Folkwords

The Lost Notes are an acoustic roots band based in the creatively fertile blaglands of Moseley, Birmingham UK. They have built up a loyal fan base across the folk and festival circuit through their lively full band performances and more intimate trio gigs. They write songs for chin-strokers, foot-stompers, head-nodders and those who like to partake in the dark art of inarticulate dancing and hollering. It happens. All delivered in glorious 3 part harmonies.

"A highlight…were Moseley band The Lost Notes. They…drew a huge crowd for their fast-paced set that was high on fun and audience engagement."
Birmingham Mail – Moseley Folk Festival Review

"One of Birmingham’s finest emerging bands, this Moseley-based quintet fuse bluegrass, folk, jazz, blues and pop to produce a sound that is as compelling as it is entertaining."
Birmingham Mail - Glee Club Review
