Welcome to On the Edge Comedy, one of Brighton's longest-running and best-loved comedy nights!
Following a busy Brighton Fringe run, Edge is going back to its roots as a monthly, carefully-curated and inclusive night combining the best pro talent alongside rising and brand-new acts in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment. You've heard of gritty reboots, this is a witty reboot!
To celebrate we have a real feast for you this month: a show book-ended by two very recognisable headliners!
Opening the show will be Edge favourite and Mock the Week star Alasdair Beckett-King. Alasdair is a multi-award winning comic and animator with many viral videos under his belt. He has appeared on BBC Radio 4 extra and performed at Glastonbury festival as well as multiple Edinburgh Fringes and international comedy festivals. We go a long way back with Alasdair, in fact he was one of the few comics to grace our long-defunct Luton gigs (from the venue of which we took our name).
"A singular and truly distinct act, Alasdair Beckett-King creates his own multi-faceted world" **** - The Scotsman
Closing out the show will be Tom Little (Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, BBC Radio New Comedy Award finalist). We at On The Edge are huge fans of Tom's brilliant and distinctive comedy and are delighted to bring him to you.
'The real deal. An instinctive comedian with oodles of charm and a quirky, frenetic intensity' - The Spectator
'Inventive, unexpected and often very silly... He surely can't remain a hidden treasure for long' **** Chortle
'Tom Little is defined by his restless, distracted energy and excellent joke-writing' - The Scotsman
These 2 legends for 8 quid on a Friday night is frankly a mega deal, but we are also letting the first 20 tickets go for £6 each to celebrate our re-launch, so hurry!
They will also be joined by Heather Elizabeth, Amelia Hamilton and Saffron Ann, and resident MC Dan Fardell ("One of the best new joke writers I've seen in ages" - Romesh Ranganathan)
nb all line-ups subject to change
Please note that the venue is sadly not wheelchair-accessible
