Event information

The day will begin at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the famous White Scar Caves - which is the longest show cave in Britain! The 90 minute tour of the caves will see you exploring underground streams and waterfalls, flowstone, prehistoric mud pools, and the huge Battlefield Cavern adorned with thousands of stalactites. The cave temperature is a cool 8° Centigrade throughout the year, so we recommend that you wear a pullover or jacket!

Following the cave tour, we will head for a spot of lunch in Malham and continue on to the world-famous Malham Coves. This huge curving amphitheatre shaped cliff formation is a centuries old site of natural beauty, and even featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!

Please meet the coach at James College on Campus West by 8:45am. The coach will arrive at White Scar Caves around 11am and depart from Malham Cove at around 3:45pm.

Remember to prepare for weather changes and wear suitable shoes for the cave tour!

** Please note the cave tour is not suitable for students with cardiac conditions - more information can be found via their website at https://whitescarcave.co.uk/important-information **
