THIS CONCERT IS NOW SOLD OUT
The anniversary of the death of Lydia Yavorska, Princess Bariatinsky, who is buried in St Nicolas' churchyard in Old Shoreham, falls in September. Please join us at this ‘centenary-plus-one’ concert on 17th September 2022 (Covid unfortunately prevented commemoration of the centenary), to which we will be welcoming a special VIP guest…
The Brighton & Hove Russian Choir will present a varied concert to mark the occasion. Come and experience traditional lyrical and dance songs, Art Songs (Romances) from the 18th-19th centuries, beautiful harmonies in classical pieces by Tchaikovsky and others, and Orthodox liturgical pieces by Rachmaninov and Tchesnokov. There will also be Ukrainian songs that the choir has learnt in solidarity with Ukraine, as well as some solo performances.
Refreshments will be available during the interval.
Advance tickets through this website cost £9 (+ 10% booking fee).
Remaining tickets (if any) will be sold on the door at £10.
The Choir will be singing for Peace. At the end of the concert there will be a collection for the Red Cross DEC appeal, supporting humanitarian aid for those who need it most, in Ukraine or its bordering countries.
