With Philip Rambow on guitar, Martin Belmont on guitars, Clare Kenny on bass, the trio will also be joined by acclaimed percussionist Roy Dodds.
Arriving in London from Toronto in the early 70s, Philip Rambow found himself hitting the thriving pub rock circuit with The Winkies. Recruited to back Brian Eno on recordings and his solo tour, the band signed to Chrysalis Records. Rambow went on to work with Mick Ronson before delivering two solo albums for EMI and racking up Radio 1. A songwriter of some repute, he’s authored hits for Kirsty MacColl, Nick Gilder & Ellen Foley. His 2020 album ‘Canadiana’ was released to critical acclaim and was followed by a career-highlights collection ‘The Rebel Kind: Anthology 1972-2020’.
Martin Belmont is a legend. Starting in the Pub Rock era with Ducks Deluxe he then became a stalwart with Graham Parker and the Rumour. A whole life making music with legends: ElvisCostello, Nick Lowe and Johnny Cash. Clare Kenny is a musician who was a bassist for a number of groups from the 1980s to the present day, including: Amazulu,Shakespears
Sister, Orange Juice, Indigo Girls, Roddy Frame, and too many more to mention. Roy Dodds has drummed with Fairground Attraction / The Korgis / Working Week / Mary Coughlan etc etc
Born in London but raised in the deep south of the United States, Ben’s musical style reflects these experiences. His guitar playing is an intoxicating mix, combining the raw delta blues of Robert Johnson, the Piedmont style of Reverend Gary Davis and the infectious bounce of Big Bill Broonzy.
